Once in a blue moon

What an extraordinary evening was Tuesday last. The last time this happened was way back in January 1999 and since I didn’t follow the events back then, this is the first ever as far as I am concerned.

I’m talking about Jamie Carragher scoring a goal of course. I couldn’t stop laughing (that’s a weird reaction, is it?) when I heard about it (live) thanks to the e-Season Ticket I’d bought as a month’s trial. I don’t think I’ll be renewing it because once the season starts pretty much all LFC games will be on TV while e-Season Ticket will be offering live audio only with delayed video/ highlights. Add to that my connection isn’t fast enough to watch video, as it requires a ~225 kbps line for “low” res video and around 1MB for the high quality one and I’m stuck with a 128 kbps only line only, so it makes no sense at all. I could, of course, download games and watch them at leisure (yes that is offered) but it’s in WMV format with Microsoft’s crappy DRM stuff that isn’t supported on the Mac platform. So all in all it makes no sense at all (for me) to pay, what is not exactly loose change, for something that barely works (for me).

Well I have digressed or what!!! Congrats to you Jamie lad. It might have been against the mighty Lithuanian champions, but now that the floodgates are open, I’m sure you’ll win the golden boot this year. I’ll drink to that! 😉
